Crowdfunding has become a common word to many people, but do you really have a clear understanding of how it works and what it takes to run a great campaign? As a small business owner, whether in launch mode or actively in business, crowdfunding can be a lucrative way to raise capital. It also can be a way to avoid many of the obstacles that come with traditional funding methods. During this webinar we will explore an introductory approach to crowdfunding and what it takes to be successful. This interactive workshop is designed for people who have never run a crowdfunding campaign. A goal is to help you gain a basic understanding of running a campaign and the hard work it requires. Finally, we will look at successful Indian country examples.

Mark Thompson, Mark Thompson
Mark Thompson serves as the Executive Director of IDRS, Inc. Mark provides entrepreneurial training and technical assistance to Native American entrepreneurs and works with businesses operated by Native American tribes to conduct feasibility studies, develop business plans, establish internal accounting procedures and secure grant funding to further economic development through the creation of small businesses in Indian Country.
Outside of his work for IDRS, he owns and operates a real estate business and teaches business economics and accounting at the Community College level. Mr. Thompson completed the Juris Doctorate degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento in 2009 and is near completing an MBA. He lives outside Sacramento California where he and his wife Mandy operate a small ranch and are raising two children, Zane and Marina.
