Your Home: Selecting Professional Services

Tribal Housing Authorities can help provide new homeowners with great post-purchase training on how to select professional services for their new home. With a focus on tenants and current homeowners, this webinar explains how to research, select, and interact with professional home service providers. From lawn care to residential remodeling, individuals have to ask the right questions upfront, understand the agreement/contracts they sign, and review the necessary steps to project completion.   


Training Objectives:

– Understand your scope of work: material, labor, time, etc.

– Review important questions to ask the specialist, contractor, and/or professional landscaper, etc.

– Learn how to evaluate references and past performance

– Examine types of service contracts and payments methods

  • Marie Dufour-Bonville proudly began her professional career with the Seminole Tribe of Florida in April of 2007. Within the Seminole Education Department, Marie has held positions such as Higher Education Recruiter, Adult Vocational Administrator, and Tribal Professional Development Program Manager. Each position provided her with the unique opportunity to work closely with Seminole Tribal Members in the areas of higher education and professional development in addition to the various Tribal Departments. .

    Marie has a Bachelor’s in Political Science with a minor in International Relations and a Masters in Public Administration with a Certificate in Community Development. She is a proud alumni of Florida International University and a member of Pi Alpha Alpha.
