HUD FY18 Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants NOFA Posted

We’re excited to announce that HUD posted the FY18 Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants NOFA to www.grants.gov on May 18, 2018.  Applications are due by Monday, September 17, 2018.

With this publication, HUD is making available approximately $145 million for Implementation Grants of up to $30 million each.  Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants support the implementation of comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plans that are expected to achieve the following three core goals:

  1. Housing: Replace distressed public and assisted housing with high-quality mixed-income housing that is well-managed and responsive to the needs of the surrounding neighborhood;
  2. People: Improve outcomes of households living in the target housing related to employment and income, health, and children’s education; and
  3. Neighborhood: Create the conditions necessary for public and private reinvestment in distressed neighborhoods to offer the kinds of amenities and assets, including safety, good schools, and commercial activity, that are important to families’ choices about their community.

Also, a reminder that the FY18 Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grants NOFA was published in April.  Applications for that are by due June 12, 2018.

The NOFA and application package must be downloaded from the www.grants.gov site.  Potential applicants may submit questions to ChoiceNeighborhoods@hud.gov.  For more information about Choice Neighborhoods, please visit the program’s website at: www.hud.gov/cn.
