ONAP Program Guidance 2016-01 regarding use of IHBG, Title VI, and ICDBG to fund Broadband Activities

This guidance provides tribes and tribally designated housing entities with information on several nationwide initiatives to expand broadband connectivity in low-income communities. It also explains how the Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG), Title VI Loan Guarantee, and Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) programs can be used to assist in such efforts.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control has developed the website  This website offers tools, publications, and resources on many topics.  One set of resources focuses on Combined Built Environment Features Help Communities Get Active recommends using street connectivity, sidewalk and trail infrastructure, bicycle infrastructure, public transit infrastructure and access, mixed land use environments that increase the diversity and proximity of local destinations where people live, work, and spend their recreation and leisure time, and access to parks, and other public or private recreational facilities to produce improved health outcomes.
