US DHS FEMA – Draft Disaster Assistance Policy Guide; Request for Public Comment – DEADLINE: June 7, 2018

On April 23, 2018, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) released the draft Individual Assistance Program and Policy Guide (IAPPG) for forty-five (45) days of public comment. The IAPPG is intended to provide a comprehensive policy resource for state, local, territorial, and tribal governments, non-governmental partners, and other entities who assist disaster survivors with post-disaster recovery.

On September 30, 2016, FEMA published the Individuals and Households Program Unified Guidance (IHPUG), which for the first time compiled all FEMA policy for the Individuals and Households Program (IHP) into a single, publicly-available resource.  Since then, FEMA has built on the information included in the original IHPUG to develop a single policy resource for all Individual Assistance (IA) programs: the IAPPG.  This document consolidates policy statements for all IA programs, including the Individuals and Households Program, Mass Care and Emergency Assistance programs, and the Community Services programs.

From April 23 – June 7, 2018, stakeholders can share their thoughts and feedback on FEMA’s draft IAPPG,  The draft can be found for comment at https://www.fema.gov/individual-assistance-program-and-policy-guide through June 7, 2018.

Please use the downloadable comment matrix and send your comments to FEMA by close of business Thursday, June 7, 2018.  You may provide your comments or submit any questions to FEMA at FEMA-IAPPG-Comments@fema.dhs.gov.
