September 5, 2017 2:30 PM: The Native Learning Center is currently monitoring Hurricane Irma, a category 5 major hurricane. The center of Irma is located just under 200 miles east of the Leeward Islands and is moving westward at about 10 to 15 mph. This system has a strong chance of further development as it moves west northwest. Hurricane Irma has the potential to impact the Native Learning Center late this week and early next week. While it is still too early to pinpoint Hurricane Irma’s exact path we at the Native Learning Center will continue to monitor the potential development and path of Hurricane Irma and provide updates as needed.
